Overall assessment: Yanlord remains in a well-established downtrend. The latest candle shows buying interest around S$0.455–0.460, but there is insufficient evidence to confirm a durable bottom.

The key question is whether the recent rebound marks the beginning of genuine demand returning or merely a temporary recovery within an ongoing markdown.

1. Market structure

The chart shows three important developments.

January–May: Broad trading range and failed upside continuation

Price initially fluctuated around S$0.670–0.780, subsequently declined toward S$0.595, then rallied sharply to S$0.815 in May. The breakout failed to sustain higher prices, producing a rapid decline.

The reversal from S$0.815 signalled a significant shift from buying dominance to selling dominance.

May–August: Distribution of gains and deterioration

The decline from S$0.815 established progressively lower swing highs, including S$0.715, S$0.675 and S$0.660.

The subsequent rally toward S$0.700 in August failed, leaving the market vulnerable to another sell-off.

August–October: Confirmed bearish continuation

The breakdown from the S$0.640–0.660 region accelerated toward S$0.550, followed by another decline through S$0.500.

The October rally stalled at S$0.560, creating another lower high before price fell to S$0.455.

Structure: Lower highs + lower lows = bearish continuation.

The market has not yet established a meaningful higher low or broken its sequence of lower swing highs.

2. Critical support and resistance

Level (SGD)

Significance

0.455–0.460

Immediate support; recent selling low

0.440

Next downside reference if support fails

0.480–0.500

First resistance and psychological S$0.50 level

0.520

Former September support area

0.550–0.560

October rebound high; important structural resistance

0.600–0.610

Major former support, now potential overhead supply

The most important near-term zone is S$0.455–0.500. A sustained recovery above S$0.500 would be an initial improvement, while a decline below S$0.455 would extend the existing downtrend.

0.475

Bullish candle, bearish context.

  • Close at 75% of the daily range.

  • Buyers recovered most of the day's upward range after opening at the low.

  • Volume does not show an obvious surge relative to recent activity.

  • No confirmed break of the declining swing structure.

The candle suggests an initial response from buyers. However, a single bullish candle following a sustained decline cannot establish a trend reversal.

Effort versus result

The selling waves from August through October generated considerable downward progress, particularly during the August breakdown.

By late October, daily ranges appear to contract near the lows. This raises the possibility of shortening of downward thrust, but does not yet prove seller exhaustion.

For bullish confirmation, look for:

  • A successful retest of S$0.455–0.460 on reduced volume.

  • Strong bullish candles closing near their highs.

  • Increasing volume accompanying upward progress through S$0.480–0.500.

There is no confirmed Wyckoff spring yet. A convincing spring would require a false breakdown below established support, rapid recovery and subsequent confirmation.

4. Trading scenarios

Bullish

Recovery toward S$0.520–0.560

Confirmation: Sustained close above S$0.500, ideally followed by a successful retest.

Entry reference: S$0.500 after confirmation.

Invalidation: Below S$0.475 for a tight setup, subject to price action.

Target: S$0.550–0.560, giving approximately 1:2–1:2.4 reward-to-risk with a S$0.475 stop.

Bearish

Continuation below S$0.455

Confirmation: Decisive breakdown below S$0.455 with weak closing action and continued selling.

Watch S$0.440 as the next reference. Lower targets require additional historical support information.

A quick recovery above S$0.455 would weaken the bearish breakdown signal.

Neutral

Base formation between S$0.455 and S$0.500

Price oscillates sideways while daily ranges contract.

Watch whether pullbacks attract less selling and subsequent rallies achieve progressively higher closes.

A sustained base could improve the outlook, but sideways movement alone is not proof of accumulation.

5. Final assessment

Trade readiness

Wait for confirmation

My preferred approach: Wait rather than anticipate the bottom.

At S$0.475, Yanlord is close to its recent low, but this alone does not make it an attractive entry. The more informative development would be a successful support retest followed by a recovery through S$0.500.

Three levels deserve priority:

  • S$0.455: Bearish continuation threshold.

  • S$0.500: First meaningful recovery confirmation.

  • S$0.560: Structural level whose recovery would materially strengthen the bullish case.

Until the market produces convincing bullish follow-through, rallies should be regarded as countertrend movements rather than evidence that the downtrend has ended.
