Genting SP - 05 Aug 2026

Current Market Regime: Post-Breakdown Recovery / Early Base-Building

Asset: Genting Singapore Limited
Ticker: G13 / SGX
Timeframe: Daily chart
Last shown price: ~S$0.630

1. Macro Structure: Major Trend Context

The chart shows a large distribution-to-breakdown sequence followed by a low-volatility recovery base.

The key structural sequence is:

S$0.810 high → breakdown through S$0.690/S$0.675 → panic low at S$0.580 → recovery toward S$0.640

This means the dominant higher-timeframe structure is still bearish to neutral, not fully bullish yet. The move from S$0.580 to S$0.640 is a recovery leg, but it has not yet reclaimed the prior breakdown zone near S$0.675–S$0.690.

The most important historical supply zone remains:

S$0.675–S$0.695

That was the former consolidation floor before the heavy May breakdown. Until price reclaims that area, the market is still trading below a major overhead supply zone.

2. Market Structure: Swing Highs and Swing Lows

Major swing highs

  • S$0.810: climactic high and likely major distribution area.
  • S$0.715 / S$0.710: failed recovery highs before breakdown.
  • S$0.695: final lower high before the sharp selloff.
  • S$0.640: current recovery swing high.

Major swing lows

  • S$0.690 / S$0.675: former support during consolidation.
  • S$0.580: capitulation low after breakdown.
  • S$0.600 / S$0.610 / S$0.620: higher-low sequence during current base.

The chart has shifted from a clear downtrend into a tentative higher-low recovery structure. The short-term structure is improving, but the medium-term structure remains capped below S$0.640–S$0.650.

3. Institutional Footprint and Volume-Price Analysis

The most obvious institutional event is the large red breakdown bar in May.

That bar shows:

  • Wide range
  • Very high volume
  • Break below S$0.690
  • Continuation into S$0.580

This is not ordinary selling. It suggests either a major forced liquidation, aggressive institutional distribution, or panic selling triggered by a significant event.

After that selloff, the behavior changed. Price stopped falling aggressively and began forming a sideways-to-upward base from S$0.580 to S$0.640. Volume during the recovery appears much lower than the breakdown volume, which means the rebound is orderly but not yet institutionally confirmed.

Key VPA interpretation

  • High volume + wide red bar in May: professional selling or panic liquidation.
  • S$0.580 low: possible selling climax / exhaustion point.
  • Low-volume recovery: supply has reduced, but demand is not yet aggressive.
  • Sideways bars near S$0.620–S$0.640: absorption or hesitation below resistance.

The current price action looks more like base repair than confirmed accumulation.

4. Retail Trap and Liquidity Analysis

There are two major trap zones visible.

Bull trap near S$0.810

Price pushed strongly into S$0.810, then immediately failed. That area likely attracted late buyers before a sharp reversal. The failure from S$0.810 into the later breakdown suggests the prior rally may have ended with an upthrust / liquidity grab.

Bear trap risk near S$0.580

The sharp flush into S$0.580 may have forced weak holders out. Since price recovered and began making higher lows afterward, S$0.580 now becomes a possible spring-style low. However, the confirmation is incomplete because price has not reclaimed the prior breakdown zone.

5. Key Support and Resistance Levels

ZoneTypeMeaning
S$0.580Major supportCapitulation low / structural invalidation level
S$0.600SupportRepeated base support
S$0.610–S$0.620Near-term supportCurrent higher-low zone
S$0.630Current price areaMid-range consolidation
S$0.640Immediate resistanceRecent swing high
S$0.650–S$0.660Secondary resistancePre-breakdown lower support area
S$0.675–S$0.695Major supplyFormer breakdown zone; strongest overhead resistance
S$0.710–S$0.715Higher resistanceFailed rally zone before breakdown

The most important near-term battle is around S$0.640. A clean close above S$0.640 with volume expansion would show improving demand. Failure there keeps price trapped in a recovery range.

6. Bar-by-Bar Read of the Current Base

Since the S$0.580 low, price has shown:

  • Higher lows around S$0.600, then S$0.610, then S$0.620
  • Gradual advance toward S$0.640
  • Small-bodied candles and overlapping structure
  • No strong expansion candle yet above resistance

This is constructive but not explosive. The market appears to be compressing under resistance, which can lead to either:

  1. Breakout continuation above S$0.640
  2. Failed breakout / bull trap back toward S$0.610–S$0.600

The lack of strong volume expansion near the highs suggests buyers have not yet proven control.

7. Forward Bias and Scenario Planning

Bullish scenario

A bullish case improves only if price can:

  • Hold above S$0.620
  • Break and close above S$0.640
  • Show volume expansion on the breakout
  • Avoid immediate rejection back below S$0.630

If that happens, the next logical upside zones are:

S$0.650 → S$0.660 → S$0.675

The real test is S$0.675–S$0.695, because that is the prior breakdown zone where trapped holders may sell into strength.

Bearish scenario

The bearish case strengthens if price:

  • Rejects again near S$0.640
  • Closes below S$0.620
  • Loses S$0.610
  • Returns toward S$0.600

A daily close below S$0.600 would weaken the entire recovery base and expose a retest of S$0.580.

8. Risk-Adjusted Setup Quality

The chart is not at the best risk-reward location for chasing. Price is near resistance, not near the base support.

A cleaner long setup would require either:

Breakout setup:
Entry only after a decisive close above S$0.640, with confirmation volume and no immediate rejection.

Pullback setup:
Wait for a controlled pullback toward S$0.620–S$0.610, then assess whether buyers defend the higher-low structure.

For risk planning, the clean structural invalidation levels are:

  • Aggressive stop zone: below S$0.620
  • Safer structural stop zone: below S$0.600
  • Major invalidation: below S$0.580

Upside targets for a confirmed breakout are:

  • Target 1: S$0.650–S$0.660
  • Target 2: S$0.675
  • Target 3: S$0.690–S$0.695

Highest-Conviction Observations

  1. S$0.580 is the key capitulation low and current structural anchor.
  2. S$0.640 is the immediate breakout resistance that must be cleared.
  3. S$0.675–S$0.695 is the major overhead supply zone from the previous breakdown.
  4. The recovery from S$0.580 is constructive but lacks strong volume confirmation.
  5. The chart is in a base-building phase, not yet a confirmed institutional accumulation uptrend.

Confidence Rating

6 / 10

The structure has improved from bearish to neutral-recovery, but confirmation is still missing. A high-confidence bullish read requires a strong close above S$0.640 with volume expansion.

Key Levels to Watch

Support: S$0.620, S$0.610, S$0.600, S$0.580
Resistance: S$0.640, S$0.650–S$0.660, S$0.675–S$0.695
Bullish trigger: Daily close above S$0.640 with volume
Bearish trigger: Daily close below S$0.600
Major invalidation: Loss of S$0.580

Execution Checklist

Before any trade decision:

  • Confirm whether volume expands on a breakout above S$0.640.
  • Avoid chasing if price is extended into resistance.
  • Check whether S$0.620–S$0.610 holds on pullback.
  • Define stop before entry.
  • Ensure minimum risk-reward is at least 1:2.
  • Watch for false breakout above S$0.640 followed by a close back below S$0.630.

Buying G13 because price is forming a higher-low recovery base above S$0.600 with a potential breakout above S$0.640, with stops at S$0.600 targeting S$0.675 for approximately 1:2 risk-reward.

Genting SP - 10 Feb 2026

Genting Singapore (SGX: G13) — Daily (1D)

Date range shown: ~Jun 2025 → 10 Feb 2026
Last traded price: 0.750
Last bar: O 0.750 / H 0.750 / L 0.745 / C 0.750
Volume (latest shown): ~12.33M

1) Market Regime (MOST IMPORTANT)

Regime: Range → Early Uptrend Transition

This is not a clean trend yet, but it’s no longer “dead range” either.

You have:

  • A long, messy range for months

  • A sharp institutional impulse (Nov spike to ~0.800)

  • A controlled pullback

  • A tight base around 0.720–0.740

  • And now a grind-up into 0.750

That’s classic re-accumulation after a markup attempt.

2) Market Structure & Key Swings (SH/SL)

Major swing points visible:

  • Range low support: ~0.690

  • Key structural low: ~0.710

  • Range support shelf: ~0.720

  • Mid-range pivot: ~0.740

  • Range ceiling / supply: ~0.770

  • Major swing high: 0.800

Structure read:

  • From Sep → Oct: lower highs into 0.710 (weakness)

  • Nov: sudden expansion up to 0.800 (displacement)

  • Dec: retrace and base around 0.710–0.720

  • Jan → Feb: higher lows + slow push into 0.750

So the structure is improving, but price is still inside the bigger range.

3) Volume-Price Relationship (Effort vs Result)

The most important bar on the chart:

Late Nov / early Dec: huge volume spike on a down bar
That is not normal retail selling.

That’s typically:

  • Supply being dumped into, AND/OR

  • Absorption (strong hands taking the other side)

But what matters is what happened after:

  • Price did NOT collapse

  • Instead, it stabilized and built a base

That leans toward absorption > distribution.

Recent volume condition:

The current grind up to 0.750 is on relatively quiet / average volume.

That is typical of:

  • Mark-up driven by lack of supply, not aggressive chasing

This is healthy, as long as the breakout volume appears later.

4) Institutional Footprints (Wyckoff / SMC lens)

Phase interpretation (practical, not academic):

  • Jun–Oct: Accumulation range (messy, but supported)

  • Nov: Markup attempt (0.720 → 0.800)

  • Dec: Reaction + test back into 0.710–0.720

  • Jan–Feb: Re-accumulation (tight range + rising floor)

Key behavior:

  • The 0.710–0.720 zone acts like a defended demand zone

  • The repeated “small bodies” around 0.720–0.740 = absorption + compression

  • Now price is pushing back into the upper range

5) Bar-by-Bar Character (micro read)

What the candles are saying right now:

  • Many small-range candles with higher closes = controlled accumulation

  • No big bearish wide-range bar during the recent rise = no heavy supply yet

  • The current push into 0.750 is orderly, not emotional

This is exactly how price behaves before a breakout attempt.

6) Critical Levels (Actionable)

Immediate resistance (must clear):

  • 0.750 (current battle)

  • 0.770 (range ceiling + repeated pivot high)

Major resistance / target zone:

  • 0.800 (swing high)

Support levels:

  • 0.740 (first “breakout retest” support)

  • 0.720 (base floor / key demand)

  • 0.710 (structural “line in the sand”)

7) Highest Conviction Observations (3–5)

  1. 0.710–0.720 is a defended institutional zone (multiple successful holds).

  2. The Nov move to 0.800 was real displacement, not random noise.

  3. The pullback did not destroy structure, meaning supply was not overwhelming.

  4. The current price action is compression + rising floor, which is breakout-prep behavior.

  5. A breakout above 0.770 would likely trigger range expansion quickly.

8) Setup Map (Risk-Adjusted)

Setup A — Conservative breakout trade

  • Trigger: Daily close above 0.770

  • Stop: Below 0.750 (or more conservative below 0.740)

  • Targets:

    • T1: 0.800

    • T2: extension beyond 0.800 (not visible yet, but possible)

This is the clean “range breakout” play.

Setup B — Pullback entry (better R:R)

  • Entry zone: 0.740–0.720 on a pullback

  • Stop: Below 0.710

  • Targets: 0.770 then 0.800

This is higher quality because:

  • risk is defined

  • you’re buying into demand, not into supply

9) Retail Trap Risks (what to watch)

The most likely trap is:

  • Price spikes above 0.770

  • Volume is weak

  • Then it snaps back into the range

That would be a classic upthrust / bull trap.

So: 0.770 breakout MUST show volume expansion + follow-through.

10) Forward Bias & What Matters Next

Bias: Moderately bullish (conditional)

  • Bullish if price holds above 0.740

  • Strong bullish if it breaks 0.770 cleanly

  • Neutral-to-bearish if it loses 0.720

  • Bearish if it loses 0.710 (structure breaks)

The “tell” bar:

Watch the first attempt into 0.770:

  • If volume expands + close is strong → real breakout

  • If volume is low + long upper wick → supply still heavy

  • Swing Highs (SH): 0.785 (Jan, Apr, Sep), 0.775 (Mar), 0.770 (Jun).

  • Swing Lows (SL): 0.660 (Apr), 0.680 (Jun), 0.690 (Jul).

  • Trend:

    • Broader range-bound structure between 0.66–0.78.

    • Higher lows since June (0.680 → 0.690 → 0.725), signaling gradual accumulation.

  • Break of Structure (BOS): August breakout above 0.750, retested as support.

  • Change of Character (CHoCH): April–June downtrend transitioned into July–September accumulation → breakout attempt.

2. Advanced Volume-Price Relationship (VPR)

  • High Volume + Small Range: Seen near 0.700 and 0.725 – absorption zones (institutional buying).

  • High Volume + Wide Range: Sharp drop in April to 0.660 = panic selling climax, absorbed quickly.

  • Volume Divergence: Rising price since July, but volume has not expanded strongly – breakout needs validation.

  • Volume Expansion: Noticeable pickup on recent breakout over 0.750 = institutional interest.

3. Institutional Footprints

  • Liquidity Grabs: Repeated sweeps of 0.725 before reversal = retail stop hunts.

  • Order Block: April’s strong bullish candle off 0.660 (institutional defense).

  • Fair Value Gap: 0.690–0.710 zone remains a prior inefficiency; possible retest if breakout fails.

  • Accumulation: Wyckoff-style accumulation from May–August (spring at 0.680, test at 0.725, breakout at 0.750).

4. Bar Pattern Recognition

  • Pin Bars: Multiple rejection wicks at 0.785 (resistance holding firm).

  • Engulfing Patterns: July bullish engulfing at 0.690 = key reversal point.

  • Inside Bars: Seen before the breakout at 0.750 – coiling energy.

5. Multi-Timeframe Confluence

  • Weekly Chart Bias (higher timeframe): Still in range (0.660–0.785).

  • Daily Bias: Short-term bullish above 0.750, but resistance-heavy at 0.780–0.785.

  • Compression: Daily breakout aligns with weekly resistance → decision point.

6. Psychological Levels

  • 0.700 / 0.750 / 0.800 = key psychological reference points.

  • Current ATR: ~0.015–0.020 (normal volatility).

7. Risk-Adjusted Setup

  • Support Zone: 0.740–0.750.

  • Resistance Zone: 0.780–0.785.

  • Setup: Long above 0.750 with stop under 0.740; target 0.785–0.800.

  • Risk-Reward: ~1:2 if stop at 0.740 and target at 0.800.

8. Market Regime

  • Ranging Regime → Transitioning to Breakout Attempt.

  • Still not a clean trend until a decisive daily close above 0.785.

9. Institutional Supply/Demand

  • Demand Zone: 0.725–0.740 (tested and held).

  • Supply Zone: 0.780–0.785 (persistent rejection).

  • Effort vs. Result: Rising volume on recent up-leg, but price stalled at resistance → possible absorption before breakout.

🔮 Forward-Looking Bias

  • Breakout above 0.785 with volume expansion = start of new trend (target 0.820–0.850).

  • Failure to break = reversion to 0.740–0.750 support zone.

🎯 Trade Summary

Buying Genting Singapore (SGX: G13) because of breakout attempt above 0.750 with institutional accumulation confirmed, with stops at 0.740 targeting 0.800–0.820 for ~1:2 R/R.

  • Confidence Rating: 6.5 / 10 (needs breakout confirmation).

  • Key Levels to Watch: Support 0.740 / 0.725; Resistance 0.785 / 0.800.

  • Watch volume behavior near key levels for confirmation of buying or selling pressure.

Genting Singapore Ltd forms bearish "Megaphone Top" chart pattern

Feb 23, 2024

Trading Central has detected a "Megaphone Top" chart pattern formed on Genting Singapore Ltd (G13:SGX-ST). This bearish signal indicates that the stock price may fall from the close of 0.930 to the range of 0.850 - 0.870. The pattern formed over 30 days which is roughly the period of time in which the target price range may be achieved, according to standard principles of technical analysis.

Tells Me: The recent broadening action tells us that trading has been out of control, but a breakout on the downside suggests we're starting a more decisive downtrend.

With its broadening price swings, the Megaphone represents a market that's unstable and out of control. It typically consists of two successively lower lows between three higher highs, and the reversal signal occurs when the price breaks down below the second trough (the lowest lows) as a sign of a more decisive bearish move.

This bearish pattern can be seen on the following chart and was detected by Trading Central proprietary pattern recognition technology.

Genting SP - Bullish Bottom Triangle

Genting Singapore Ltd forms bullish "Bottom Triangle" chart pattern
May 29, 2020

Recognia has detected a "Bottom Triangle" chart pattern formed on Genting Singapore Ltd (G13:SGX-ST). This bullish signal indicates that the stock price may rise from the close of 0.785 to the range of 1.020 - 1.080. The pattern formed over 49 days which is roughly the period of time in which the target price range may be achieved, according to standard principles of technical analysis.

Tells Me: The price seems to have reached a bottom, showing signs of reversal as it has broken upward after a period of uncertainty or consolidation. A Bottom Triangle shows two converging trendlines as prices reach lower highs and higher lows. Volume diminishes as the price swings back and forth between an increasingly narrow range reflecting uncertainty in the market direction. Then well before the triangle reaches its apex, the price breaks above the upper trendline with a noticeable increase in volume, confirming this bullish pattern as a reversal of the prior downtrend.

This bullish pattern can be seen on the following chart and was detected by Trading Central proprietary pattern recognition technology.
