Sheng Siong - 03 Aug 2026

OV8 — Sheng Siong Group Ltd. | SGX | Daily Chart Analysis

Last price: 3.26
Chart timeframe: 1D

Current Market Regime: Uptrend transitioning into distribution / volatility expansion

The broader structure remains bullish because price has produced a sequence of higher swing lows from 2.51 → 2.97 → 3.00 → 3.15 → 3.21, and higher swing highs from 2.73 → 2.97 → 3.25 → 3.40 → 3.46.

However, the latest daily bar is important: price pushed to a new high at 3.46, then closed sharply lower at 3.26. That creates an upthrust-style rejection above the prior resistance zone around 3.35–3.40. This suggests liquidity was taken above the obvious highs before supply appeared.

Highest-Conviction Observations

1. Strong institutional accumulation from March to April

The move from the March low near 2.51 into the April high at 3.25 was a clear displacement advance. The candles were wide, directional, and supported by stronger volume. That move likely marked a professional accumulation-to-markup phase.

2. April to June formed a controlled consolidation, not immediate distribution

After reaching 3.25, price did not collapse. It rotated between roughly 2.97 and 3.20, holding multiple higher lows around 2.97–3.01. This showed absorption of supply rather than aggressive selling.

3. July breakout was valid but momentum is now decaying

The breakout above 3.20–3.25 advanced into 3.40, but recent candles show more overlap, smaller real bodies, and hesitation near highs. This often signals late-stage trend fatigue.

4. Latest candle is a warning bar

The latest bar made a new high at 3.46 but closed near 3.26, below the prior breakout area. That is a bearish rejection candle and may represent an upthrust / liquidity grab. The issue is not the high itself; the issue is the weak close after taking out the prior high.

5. Volume increased near the rejection zone

Volume expanded into the recent high zone, but price failed to hold the upper range. This creates an effort-versus-result warning: high activity produced poor upside follow-through, which can indicate supply absorption or distribution.

Market Structure Map

Major support zones

  • 3.21–3.20: Immediate structural support and prior consolidation shelf.
  • 3.15: Key higher-low support from the July structure.
  • 3.00–2.97: Major demand zone from the April–June base.
  • 2.51: Major swing low and origin of the April markup.

Major resistance zones

  • 3.35–3.40: Prior supply area and recent breakout high.
  • 3.46: Current liquidity high / rejection high.
  • Above 3.46: price discovery zone, but only valid if reclaimed with strong close and volume.

Bar-by-Bar Interpretation of the Recent Area

From late June into July, price broke above the 3.15–3.20 consolidation area and pushed into 3.35–3.40. The advance was constructive, but the bars became more compressed near the highs, suggesting reduced momentum.

The most recent candle is the decisive bar. It swept above the prior high, printed 3.46, then closed at 3.26. That creates a bearish upper wick and shows sellers were active above 3.40. For a bullish continuation, price needs to reclaim 3.35–3.40 quickly. Failure to do so increases the probability of a pullback toward 3.21, then 3.15.

Institutional Footprint

Possible smart-money action:
Price likely triggered breakout buyers and stop orders above 3.40, then reversed lower. This is consistent with a liquidity grab / upthrust action.

Absorption signal:
If the next few candles hold above 3.20–3.21 despite the rejection, that would suggest demand is absorbing supply.

Distribution risk:
A daily close below 3.20 would confirm that the latest high was likely a failed breakout and could shift the chart into a corrective phase.

Scenario Planning

Bullish continuation scenario

Price holds 3.20–3.21, forms a higher low, and reclaims 3.35–3.40 with volume. That would invalidate the immediate upthrust concern and reopen the path toward 3.46+.

Bullish trigger zone: reclaim of 3.35–3.40
Bullish confirmation: daily close above 3.40, preferably with volume expansion
Upside target: 3.46, then potential measured move toward 3.55–3.60

Bearish pullback scenario

Price fails below 3.26 and closes under 3.20–3.21. That would confirm loss of short-term structure and expose 3.15, followed by 3.00–2.97.

Bearish trigger zone: close below 3.20
Downside target 1: 3.15
Downside target 2: 3.00–2.97

Risk-Adjusted Setup Zones

For a bullish structure, the cleaner risk zone is not chasing at 3.26 after a rejection candle. A better technical area would be a controlled pullback into 3.21–3.20, followed by bullish reversal confirmation.

For a bearish structure, confirmation requires loss of 3.20. Selling too early risks shorting directly into support.

Preferred decision zone: 3.20–3.21
Invalidation for bulls: daily close below 3.15
Invalidation for bears: reclaim and close above 3.40

Confidence Rating

Current directional confidence: 6/10 bearish-neutral short term, bullish medium term
The trend is still structurally bullish, but the latest candle is a serious warning. The next few bars around 3.20–3.35 are critical.

Key Levels to Watch

Resistance: 3.35, 3.40, 3.46
Support: 3.21, 3.20, 3.15, 3.00, 2.97
Bullish confirmation: close back above 3.40
Bearish confirmation: close below 3.20
Major demand: 3.00–2.97

Execution Checklist Before Any Trade

Confirm the next candle’s close.
Check whether volume expands on the move.
Avoid chasing immediately after the rejection wick.
Define risk using structure, not emotion.
Target at least 1:2 risk-reward, preferably 1:3.

Buying OV8 because price holds the 3.20–3.21 support zone and reclaims bullish structure, with stops at 3.15 targeting 3.40–3.46 for approximately 1:2.5 risk-reward. Confidence: 6/10.

Sheng Siong - 05 Feb 2026

Sheng Siong Group Ltd (OV8, SGX) — 1D

Date range shown: ~Jun 2025 → 05 Feb 2026
Last traded (close): 2.92 (+5.42%)
Day range: O 2.77 / H 2.92 / L 2.77 / C 2.92
Volume: ~8.73M (elevated)

1) Market Regime Classification (most important)

Strong trending regime (bull trend), late-stage markup.

This is not a “maybe uptrend” — it’s a clean institutional-style staircase:

  • Higher highs + higher lows

  • Tight consolidations

  • Explosive displacement legs

  • Breakout + hold behavior

2) Market Structure & Order Flow (SH/SL, BOS, CHoCH)

Key swing structure (macro)

  • Early base area: ~1.80–1.90

  • First major push + new structure: ~2.03 → 2.23

  • Mid consolidation: ~2.02–2.16

  • Major BOS + trend acceleration: late Oct → early Nov

  • Trend continuation with controlled pullbacks: 2.50–2.73

  • Current breakout: 2.92 (new high)

The real “institutional BOS”

The big green displacement candle in early Nov is the defining event:

  • It breaks the previous range cleanly

  • It changes the slope of the trend

  • It comes with volume expansion
That is classic “smart money committed” behavior.

3) Volume-Price Relationship (VPR)

What volume is saying

  • Early Nov: strong volume expansion on a wide-range up bar
    → professional participation (not retail-only)

  • After Nov: volume generally cools while price holds
→ bullish sign: price can stay high without needing constant buying

  • Current breakout (2.92): volume spikes again
→ breakout is being validated, not drifting upward

Effort vs Result

  • When price moves up with strong range + strong volume, that’s real demand.

  • When price consolidates with low volume, that’s supply drying up.
This chart shows both — in the correct sequence.

4) Institutional Footprints (SMC / Wyckoff)

Wyckoff read

This looks like:

  • Accumulation (Jun–Aug)

  • Re-accumulation (Aug–Oct)

  • Markup (Nov onward)

SMC features present

  • Displacement move in early Nov (strongest footprint)

  • Order block zone likely around 2.40–2.50 (last bearish area before the explosive rally)

  • No obvious liquidity grab at the top yet
(today’s breakout closes strong, not a wick-rejection trap)

5) Bar-by-Bar Pattern Read (what the candles imply)

Best bullish signals

  • Breakout bars closing near highs (especially the current one)

  • Tight-bodied consolidation after impulses (Nov → Dec → Jan)

  • Pullbacks that do NOT retrace deeply

    • The main pullback low was around 2.51, and buyers immediately defended it.

Any warning bars?

Not yet.
The chart is not showing:

  • major upper wicks at the top

  • climactic blow-off with immediate reversal

  • heavy-volume failure

So far, the breakout is behaving “clean”.

6) Key Levels (institutional map)

Immediate breakout zone

  • 2.90–2.92 = breakout level / current high

Nearest support (micro)

  • 2.73 = prior swing high / breakout base
If price pulls back and holds this, trend remains very healthy.

Mid support (structure)

  • 2.51 = key swing low in the trend
A break below this is your first real trend damage.

Deep institutional demand zone

  • 2.40–2.50 = likely order block / origin of the last expansion
If price revisits this, it’s a “big decision” area.

7) Tradeable Setups (risk-adjusted)

Setup A — Pullback buy (highest quality)

  • Entry zone: 2.73–2.78

  • Stop: below 2.65 (or below the pullback swing low)

  • Target: retest 2.92, then extension

This is the classic “buy the breakout retest”.

Setup B — Momentum continuation (higher risk)

  • Entry: if price holds above 2.90 for 2–3 sessions

  • Stop: below 2.80

  • Risk: you are buying the most crowded area (new highs)

This works in strong trends, but you must accept higher whipsaw risk.

8) Forward Bias + What to Watch Next

Bias

Bullish continuation, unless the breakout fails.

What would flip the bias (very important)

A true bearish shift would look like:

  • Breakout above 2.92 fails

  • Price closes back below 2.80

  • Then breaks 2.73 with expanding volume
That would be the first serious “distribution tell”.

9) Summary — 5 highest conviction observations

  1. This is a clean bull trend with strong structure (HH/HL).

  2. Early Nov shows institutional displacement (trend ignition).

  3. Pullbacks are shallow → supply is weak.

  4. Current breakout to 2.92 is supported by volume → not a weak drift.

  5. Key trend line in the sand is 2.51 (break it = trend damage).

Sheng Siong - 09 Sep 2025

Sheng Siong Group Ltd. (OV8.SI) on SGX – Daily Chart (Sep 2024 – Sep 2025)

1. Market Regime Classification

  • Trend: Uptrend since Apr 2025, with a sharp breakout from consolidation. However, currently transitioning into a range-bound consolidation between 2.03 support and 2.23 resistance.

  • Current Market Regime: Transitioning from trending → ranging. Volatility contracting, bar overlaps increasing.

2. Market Structure & Order Flow

  • Swing Lows (SL): 1.55 → 1.57 → 1.80 → 2.03

  • Swing Highs (SH): 1.68 → 1.88 → 2.23

  • Break of Structure (BOS): Clear BOS above 1.88 in Jul 2025 → impulsive leg to 2.23.

  • Change of Character (CHoCH): Post-August rejection at 2.23, now forming lower highs → signals fading momentum.

  • Momentum: Diminishing, as bar ranges contract and price overlaps around 2.05–2.10.

3. Volume–Price Relationship (VPR)

  • July Breakout: Wide range + volume surge = institutional buying.

  • August Top (2.23): High volume + wick rejection = climactic buying/exhaustion.

  • Current (2.06): Volume contracting = possible absorption/accumulation before next leg.

4. Institutional Footprints

  • Liquidity Grab: Wick spike beyond 2.23 (stop run above resistance) before sharp reversal.

  • Order Block: Last bullish candle before breakout (around 1.88–1.90) is an order block zone. Still valid as demand.

  • Fair Value Gaps: Between 1.90–1.95 may act as magnet if weakness continues.

  • Accumulation/Distribution: Current range (2.03–2.23) looks like early distribution phase.

5. Bar Pattern Recognition

  • 2.23 high: Shooting star-type rejection bar, confirmed by volume expansion → institutional selling.

  • 2.03 low (Aug): Support tested, demand absorbed supply, preventing deeper fall.

  • Recent bars (Sep): Small-bodied, tight ranges = indecision/absorption.

6. Multi-Timeframe Confluence

  • Weekly: Strong impulse, now pausing near major resistance (2.20–2.25).

  • Daily: Sideways range forming base at 2.03.

  • Lower TF (4H): Likely micro-range with repeated liquidity sweeps.

7. Psychological & Key Levels

  • Round number magnet: 2.00 psychological level.

  • Support levels: 2.03 (near-term), 1.90 (order block), 1.80 (structural demand).

  • Resistance levels: 2.10 minor, 2.23 major swing high.

8. Risk-Adjusted Setup Mapping

  • Bullish scenario: If 2.03 holds and volume increases on breakout >2.10, retest of 2.23 possible.

  • Bearish scenario: If 2.03 breaks with volume, correction toward 1.90–1.95 order block.

  • RR Considerations: Long from 2.05 → Stop below 2.00 → Target 2.23 = ~1:3 R:R.

9. Forward-Looking Bias

  • Market currently coiling inside 2.03–2.23.

  • Directional breakout needed for next trend leg:

    • Above 2.23 = continuation of institutional trend.

    • Below 2.03 = distribution confirmed → correction.

Trade Summary

Buying Sheng Siong (OV8.SI) if 2.03 holds because institutional absorption zone is intact, with stops at 2.00 targeting 2.23 for ~1:3 risk-reward.
Confidence Rating: 6.5/10
Key Levels to Watch: 2.03 (support), 2.10 (minor resistance), 2.23 (major resistance), 1.90 (order block demand).

✅ Pre-Execution Checklist:

  • Confirm breakout with volume expansion

  • Place stop below structural level (2.00)

  • Scale out partials near 2.10, final target 2.23

  • Watch sector rotation in SG consumer staples for relative strength

Sheng Siong - 29 Aug 2025

  • Stock Name / Ticker: Sheng Siong Group Ltd. (SGX: OV8)

  • Chart Timeframe: Daily (1D)

  • Date Range Observed: Jan 2025 – Aug 29, 2025

  • Bars in Analysis Period: ~160 trading days (8 months)

  • Last Traded Price: SGD 2.03

1. Market Structure & Order Flow Analysis

  • Trend Structure:

    • Swing Lows (SL): 1.57 (Apr), 1.80 (Jun), 2.03 (Aug)

    • Swing Highs (SH): 1.88 (May), 2.23 (Jul)

    • Clear uptrend from Apr → Jul (HH/HL sequence).

    • Current: CHoCH in Aug with failure to sustain above 2.23 and now testing 2.03 support.

  • Break of Structure (BOS):

    • Jul → Aug: First structural lower high after 2.23 peak.

    • Holding 2.03 is critical; loss of this level = downside BOS.

  • Momentum Assessment:

    • Strong impulsive runs Apr–Jul (large wide bars, expanding volume).

    • Aug shows decaying momentum → smaller ranges, overlapping bars, reduced volume conviction.

2. Volume-Price Relationship (VPR)

  • Apr–Jul rally: Wide ranges with strong volume = professional accumulation and markup.

  • At 2.23: Climactic volume spike with long wick → institutional distribution.

  • Post-July decline: Volume tapering while price drifts down → weak demand, no aggressive absorption yet.

  • At 2.03: Notable support retest with no strong rejection yet → institutions not yet stepping in visibly.

3. Institutional Footprint Recognition

  • Liquidity Grab: The 2.23 top shows stop-hunting → spike above psychological 2.20, then immediate reversal.

  • Order Block: Bullish order block around 1.80–1.88 still valid → last consolidation before July breakout.

  • Fair Value Gap (FVG): Apr–May rally left imbalance zone between 1.72–1.82, likely future retest zone.

4. Bar Pattern Recognition

  • 2.23 reversal bar: Long upper wick + high volume = exhaustion shooting star.

  • Recent bars (Aug): Small-bodied candles around 2.03 → indecision, weak demand response.

  • No bullish engulfing or hammer present yet → reversal not confirmed.

5. Multi-Timeframe Confluence

  • Weekly: Strong trend up, but 2.23 rejection forms potential weekly swing high.

  • Daily: Compression near 2.03 → decision point.

  • If weekly closes below 2.00 → structural breakdown confirmed.

6. Psychological Levels

  • Round number: 2.00 is a major psychological + structural support.

  • Upside reference: 2.20 / 2.23 remains key resistance.

  • ATR perspective: Recent daily ranges ~0.02–0.05 (normal volatility). A decisive move outside 2.00–2.10 range likely sparks continuation.

7. Risk-Adjusted Setup Identification

  • Bullish Scenario (if 2.03/2.00 holds):

    • Entry near 2.03, stop below 1.95, target retest of 2.20.

    • R:R ~ 1:2.1.

  • Bearish Scenario (if 2.00 breaks):

    • Short on breakdown, stop above 2.07, target 1.82 (order block retest).

    • R:R ~ 1:3.

8. Market Regime Classification

  • Transition Regime → trending up until July, now stalling with structural weakness.

  • Increased volatility, indecisive closes, signs of distribution.

9. Institutional Supply/Demand Analysis

  • Supply pressure clearly visible above 2.20.

  • Demand absorption weak at 2.03.

  • If large players intended to defend, we would expect wide rejection wicks + volume spike, which is not yet seen.

10. Comprehensive Market Context

  • Consumer staples sector typically defensive → less volatile.

  • Relative strength: Sheng Siong showed outperformance vs SGX index Apr–Jul.

  • Current stalling may reflect broader sector rotation.

📌 Key Observations (Highest Conviction)

  1. 2.23 = confirmed distribution top with exhaustion volume.

  2. 2.03/2.00 = critical demand zone → breakdown would signal strong shift to bearish control.

  3. Order block 1.80–1.88 = next demand test if 2.00 fails.

  4. Volume divergence: Rising price peaked on declining volume = waning demand.

  5. Current regime = distribution to early markdown phase unless 2.00 holds decisively.

✅ Trade Summary

  • Selling Sheng Siong (SGX: OV8) because price rejected 2.23 with distribution signals and is retesting critical 2.03/2.00 support with weak demand response, with stops at 2.07, targeting 1.82, offering ~1:3 R:R.

  • Confidence Rating: 7.5/10

  • Key Levels to Watch: 2.23 (resistance), 2.00 (support), 1.82 (target demand zone).

Checklist Before Execution:

  • Confirm break + daily close below 2.00.

  • Watch volume expansion for confirmation of institutional selling.

  • Adjust stop for slippage in low-liquidity SGX environment.

Sheng Siong - 27 Jan 2023

What does this stock chart says?

Quite clear Sheng Siong is in an uptrend, however, the pace is very slow.

The current price level is nearing the previous pandemic height of 1.80.

My own conclusion is unwise for me to buy at current level as Market Maker are more likely to slowly unload rather than accumulate at this level.

Reminding myself that Market Maker like to buy low and sell high and their distribution can take as long as they like.

Monday, April 18, 2022

Sheng Siong - Double Top

The Double Top does not look for Sheng Siong.  Likely to fall back to the lower channel around the price of 1.48.

As long as the lower up trend channel is not broken, the uptrend is likely to continue.  Any break of the lower support channel will invalid the uptrend.

Sheng Siong - Staying Above The Downtrend

To remain bullish, Sheng Siong price action need to remain outside the long-term downtrend line.

Sheng Siong - Normalization Work in Progress

Sheng Siong phoenix rise to 1.85 during the pandemic is now under going normalization where endemic for them is no longer as lucrative.

Near 1.32 is a good support target for better dividend yield.
